Médine on Hawa Dembayan kunnan keskuskylä Kayesin alueen Kayesin piirissä Malissa. Se sijaitsee Senegaljoen rannalla 12 kilometriä Kayesista kaakkoon. Kylässä on 1 100 asukasta (vuonna 2009)[1].


Louis Faidherben johtamat ranskalaiset perustivat vuonna 1855 Médineen linnoituksen, josta tuli sittemmin siirtomaavallan tärkein tukikohta Ranskan Sudanissa. Alue kuului tuolloin Khasson kuningaskuntaan. Umar Tallin johtamat tukulorit piirittivät linnoitusta kolmen kuukauden ajan vuonna 1857.[2][3] Alueen hallinto siirrettiin vuonna 1881 Médinestä Kayesiin[4].


Korkean kivimuurin ympäröimä linnoitus käsittää kaksikerroksisen upseerimessin, asevaraston, vankilan ja panttivangeiksi otettujen päälliköiden poikien koulun. Sen ulkopuolella sijaitsevat kahdeksan metriä korkea vartiotorni, sotilashautausmaa, khasonkakuningas Hawa Demba Diallon hauta, pienen kivimoskeijan rauniot ja vedensaannin turvaamista varten kaivettu lampi.[2][3]


Médinen kautta kulkee Dakarin–Nigerin rautatie ja Bafoulabéen johtava maantie. Kylässä on ylä- ja alkoulu sekä lähistöllä sijaitsevasta Féloun vesivoimalasta saatava sähkö.[5][6]
