Helena Arnell: Carl Olderman Cronstedt, 1700-luku.


Helena Arnell-Gezelius (1697 Tukholma – 1. elokuuta 1751 Porvoo) oli suomalainen taidemaalari 1700-luvun ensi vuosikymmenillä.


Arnellin vanhemmat olivat Jonas Lauréntii Arnell ja Helena Adlerberg, isäpuoli Axel Aulaevill. Hänen puolisonsa oli vuodesta 1720 teologian tohtori, Porvoon piispa Johan (Johannes) Nepos Gezelius. Heillä oli yksi lapsi Johan, joka aateloitiin nimellä Olivecreutz.


Hänen elämästään ja teoksistaan tiedetään vähän. Hänen maalaamansa muotokuvat keskittyvät perheen piiriin. Suomen sotavoimien käskynhaltija Carl Olderman Cronstedtia esittävä muotokuva kertoo kuitenkin koulutuksen saaneesta taiteilijasta. Arnell maalasi myös muotokuvan miehestään ennen hänen kuolemaansa vuonna 1718. Muotokuva joutui Gezelius-suvun muiden muotokuvien mukana Ruotsiin Gripsholmin linnan kokoelmaan.


Puolisonsa kuoltua Arnell muutti Sauvoon Karunan säterikartanoon, missä todennäköisesti jatkoi taiteilijauraansa kartanon hoidon ohella. Hänen omistamallaan laivalla vietiin Tukholmaan kartanon tuotteita.
