Darién Gap merkitty karttaan vihreällä.


Darién (esp. Región del Darién tai Tapón del Darién, engl. Darién Gap) on suuri luonnontilainen suo- ja sademetsäalue Panaman ja Kolumbian rajalla. Sitä pidetään Keski- ja Etelä-Amerikan rajana.


Darién katkaisee Panamericana-valtatien, sillä alue on erittäin vaikeakulkuinen. Puuttuva tieosuus on pyritty rakentamaan jo vuosikymmenien ajan. Ensimmäinen yritys aloitettiin vuonna 1971 Yhdysvaltain rahoituksella, mutta se keskeytyi vuonna 1974 ympäristöaktivistien vastustuksesta. Toinen pyrkimys rakentaa tienpätkä aloitettiin vuonna 1992, mutta Yhdistyneet kansakunnat ilmoitti vuonna 1994, että tien rakentaminen aiheuttaisi liikaa ympäristövahinkoja[1]. Niinpä alueen läpi pääsee vain jalan tai veneellä[2].
