Viron e-asukas (vir. e-residentsus) on ohjelma, jolla eri maiden kansalaiset voivat hakea sähköistä henkilöllisyyttä Viroon. Palvelun kautta e-asukkaat pääsevät käsiksi virolaisiin verkkopalveluihin, joiden kautta voivat esimerkiksi avata maahan pankkitilejä ja perustaa yrityksiä ilman, että heidän täytyy käydä Virossa.[1][2]


Vuonna 2014 Viron hallitus hyväksyi lakiehdotuksen, jonka myötä ulkomaalaiset voivat hakea sähköistä henkilöllisyyttä Virossa. Laki tuli voimaan marraskuussa 2014. Laki ei kuitenkaan mahdollista kansalaisuutta, eikä oleskelulupaa. Viron e-asukkuus, joka pitää sisällään sähköisen henkilökortin, maksaa 100 euroa.[3]


Ensimmäinen e-asukkuus myönnettiin 1. joulukuuta 2014 brittiläiselle toimittajalle, Edward Lucasille.[4] Heinäkuussa 2015 e-asukkuutta oli hakenut yli 3 800 ulkomaalaista, joista eniten suomalaisia (916), venäläisiä (442) ja ukrainalaisia (227).[5]
