Arthur Mentz (7. maaliskuuta 1882 Elbing – 1957)[1][2] oli saksalainen opettaja ja pikakirjoitushistorioitsija, joka tunnetaan erityisesti antiikin pikakirjoituksen tuntijana.


Mentz opiskeli Königsbergin Albertus-yliopistossa klassista filologiaa, historiaa ja maantiedettä.[1] Hän valmistui filosofian tohtoriksi vuonna 1906 ja toimi sen jälkeen yliopistossa pikakirjoituksen lehtorina.[1] Kun Königsberg (nykyinen Kaliningrad) siirrettiin Neuvostoliitolle vuonna 1945, Mentz muutti Rintelniin.[2]


Mentz tutustui jo nuorena Gabelsbergerin pikakirjoitusjärjestelmään, ja myöhemmin hän kirjoitti useita kirjoja pikakirjoituksen historiasta.[1]
