Balad (arab. بلد‎‎) on kaupunki viitisen kilometriä Tigrisjoen lounaispuolella, Irakin Salah ad-Dinin maakunnan Baladin piirikunnassa. Se sijaitsee linnuntietä noin 78 kilometriä maakuntakeskus Tikritistä eteläkaakkoon ja noin 81 kilometriä Irakin pääkaupunki Bagdadista pohjoisluoteeseen. YK:n vuoden 2013 väestöarvion mukaan koko Baladin piirikunnassa asui 18 prosenttia maakunnan 1,337 miljoonasta asukkaasta eli noin 240 000 henkeä.[1]


Baladin piirikunnassa, noin 22 kilometriä kaupungista kaakkoon (Bagdadin suuntaan) sijaitsee Irakin suurin sotilaslentotukikohta.[2] kesäkuussa 2014 Jihadistijärjestö Isis pyrki hyökkäämään tukikohdan kimppuun. [3]
