Tikari


Tikari on veitsen tapainen lyhyt, tavallisesti suora- ja kaksiteräinen kahvallinen pistoase.[1]Puukosta tikari eroaa siten, että puukon terä on teroitettu vain toiselta laidaltaan.


Tikarin kahvassa on usein väistin. Sen tarkoitus on estää kättä liukumasta terään tai auttaa torjumaan esimerkiksi miekaniskua. Miekan terä liukuu tikarin terää myöten ja pysähtyy väistimeen. Miekkataistelijat käyttivät usein yhtaikaa sekä miekkaa (vahvemmassa kädessä) että tikaria (heikommassa kädessä).
