Tykit, taudit ja teräs: ihmisen yhteiskuntien kohtalot (engl. Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies) on vuonna 1997 julkaistu, maantieteen professori Jared Diamondin kirjoittama kirja. Kirja voitti Pulitzer-palkinnon vuonna 1998. Vuonna 2005 valmistui kirjaan perustuva kolmiosainen dokumenttisarja.


Tykit, taudit ja teräs pyrkii selittämään sitä, miksi euraasialaiset kansat kokonaisuutena ovat selviytyneet ja valloittaneet muita kansoja. Diamond esittää, että erot kansakuntien voimasuhteissa ja teknologisessa kehittyneisyydessä selittyvät niiden elinympäristöjen erovaisuuksilla eivätkä niinkään kulttuurillisilla tai rodullisilla eroilla.
