Malcesine on kunta Veronan maakunnassa Veneton alueella Pohjois-Italiassa. Kunnassa on vajaat 4 000 asukasta, ja se sijaitsee Gardajärven itärannalla. Malcesine elää suurelta osin matkailusta.



Nähtävyyksiä |


Scaligeron linna (Castello Scaligero) hallitsee kaupunkinäkymää. Goethe vieraili Malcesinessa vuonna 1786 ja ihastui linnaan alkaen luonnostella sitä lehtiöönsä. Venetsialaiset pidättivät hänet tästä syystä itävaltalaisena vakoojana kuulusteluita varten. Linnassa on nykyään pieni Goethe-näyttely.[3]


Palazzo dei Capitani on 1200-luvulta peräisin oleva kaupungintalo. Kylän pääkirkko on Santo Stefanon kirkko. Monte Baldon vuori on tunnettu näköalapaikka ja kävelyretkien aloituspaikka, jonne vie Malcesinesta köysirata. Vuoren korkein kohta on Valdritta (2 218 m mpy.). Köysiradan yläasema on 1 760 metrin korkeudessa. [4]
