Urologiset sairaudet

Urologisiin sairauksiin kuuluvat naisten ja miesten virtsaelinsairaudet sekä miesten sukupuolielinten sairaudet. Urologisia sairauksia ovat esimerkiksi munuais- ja kivessyövät, eturauhassyövät, eturauhasen hyvänlaatuinen liikakasvu sekä virtsakivitauti ja virtsarakon toiminnan häiriöt.


Virtsasairauksien tyypillisinä oireina ovat virtsan tulo alhaisella paineella sekä lisääntynyt virtsaamisen tarve.


Virtsainkontinenssi on sairaus, jossa virtsa karkailee tahattomasti. Virtsainkontinenssi huonontaa hygieniaa ja aiheuttaa ongelmia sosiaalisissa tilanteissa. Se on yleinen sairaus, sillä jopa noin 5–8 prosenttia suomalaisista kärsii siitä.



Hoito |


Erilaisia urologisia sairauksia hoidetaan eri tavoin. Esimerkiksi eturauhassyöpää hoidetaan leikkauksella ja seurannalla. Leikkaus soveltuu hyväkuntoisille, alle 70-vuotiaille potilaille. Sädehoito sopii paremmin niille, joiden kohdalla leikkaus ei tule kyseeseen. Virtsainkontinenssia hoidetaan esimerkiksi leikkauksella, lääkkeillä ja hormonihoidolla. Virtsakivet poistetaan kehonulkoisella kivenmurskauksella eli ESWL-hoidolla.
