Matti Juhani Valkonen (s. 17. syyskuuta 1960 Kerimäki) on suomalainen entinen kestävyys- ja keskimatkojen juoksija sekä maastojuoksija. [1]


Valkonen voitti 5 000 metrin juoksun Suomen mestaruuden vuonna 1988 (aika 13.36,25), 10 000 metrin mestaruuden 1990 (29.32,54) sekä maastojuoksun lyhyen radan mestaruuden 1986 ja pitkän radan 1988 [2]. Lisäksi Valkosella on SM-pronssia 1 500 metriltä vuodelta 1985, hopeaa 5 000 metriltä 1989 ja 1990 sekä pronssia 1986 ja 1987. 10 000 metrillä Valkonen voitti kolme peräkkäistä hopeaa (1987–1989). Hallissa Valkonen voitti 1 500 metrin SM-kultaa vuonna 1983.
