Aziz Sancar (s. 1946 Savur, Mardinin maakunta) on yhdysvaltalais-turkkilainen biologi. Sancarille myönnettiin Nobelin kemianpalkinto vuonna 2015 yhdessä Paul L. Modrichin ja Tomas Lindahlin kanssa DNA:n korjausmekanismien tutkimuksesta.[3]


Hän on Turkin tiedeakatemian ja American Academy of Arts and Sciencesin kunniajäsen.



Elämä |


Sancar syntyi köyhään arabikieliseen perheeseen[4] ja oli perheen seitsemäs lapsi[5][6].
