John Gilbert (oik. John Cecil Pringle 10. heinäkuuta 1899 Logan, Utah, Yhdysvallat – 9. tammikuuta 1936 Los Angeles, Kalifornia, Yhdysvallat) oli yhdysvaltalainen mykkäelokuvien tähti. Rakastajanrooleistaan tunnettu Gilbert kilpaili itsensä Rudolph Valentinon kanssa kassamenestyksestä. Gilbertin tunnetuimpia elokuvia ovat Greta Garbo -elokuvat Himo (1926), Anna Karenina (1927), Kohtalokas nainen (1928) ja Kuningatar Kristiina (1933).


Gilbert lienee suurin Hollywood-tähti, jonka uran studiojohtaja on tuhonnut. Gilbert oli joutunut riitoihin MGM:n vaikutusvaltaisen johtajan Louis B. Mayerin kanssa Kohtalokkaan naisen jälkeen ja Mayer käytti tehokkaasti vaikutusvaltaansa tuhotakseen Gilbertin uran. Virallisena syynä oli Gilbertin äänen sopimattomuus äänielokuviin.[1]
