Siivooja työssään.


Siivooja on henkilö, joka siivoaa työkseen. Siivoojan työtehtäviin kuuluu esimerkiksi imurointia, pölyjen pyyhkimistä, pintojen pesemistä, kokous- ja toimistopalveluja sekä asiakkaiden auttamista. Siivooja työskentelee usein siivouspalveluyrityksessä tai itsenäisenä yrittäjänä.[1]


Suomessa siivoojan ammattiin voi opiskella toisen asteen ammatillisissa oppilaitoksissa. Puhdistuspalvelujen perustutkinnon suorittaneen ja siivousalaan erikoistuneen henkilön tutkinto on toimitilahuoltaja.[1]


Suomessa siivooja on myös tehtävänimike. Sen lähinimikkeitä ovat monenlaisten siivooja-loppuisten nimikkeiden lisäksi esimerkiksi siistijä ja hyttiemäntä.[1]
