Victor Noir.


Victor Noir (oikea nimi Yves Salmon; 27. heinäkuuta 1848 Attigny – 10. tammikuuta 1870 Pariisi)[1] oli ranskalainen lehtimies, jonka murha aiheutti vuonna 1870 toisen keisarikunnan kannatusta heikentäneitä poliittisia levottomuuksia. Hän oli La Marseillaise -nimisen lehden toimittaja.


Noir oli saapunut 10. tammikuuta 1870 kollegansa Ulric de Fonviellen kanssa tapaamaan Ranskan keisari Napoleon III:n serkkua, prinssi Pierre Bonapartea toimittaakseen tälle kaksintaisteluhaasteen toimittaja Paschal Grousset’n puolesta. Tapaamisessa syntyi riita, jonka päätteeksi Bonaparte ampui Noirin. Hänen hautajaisensa Neuillyssä kaksi päivää myöhemmin muuttuivat mellakaksi, joka suuntautui koko keisarikuntaa vastaan. Oikeus vapautti 25. maaliskuuta Bonaparten syytteistä tämän selitettyä Noirin provosoineen häntä läpsäyksellä kasvoihin. Fonvielle kiisti tämän kuvauksen tapahtumista.[1]


Noirin hauta Père Lachaisen hautausmaalla Pariisissa on nykyään suosittu nähtävyys haudalla olevan realistisen patsaan vuoksi.
