Westenergy Oy Ab on Mustasaaressa, Vaasan seudulla, toimiva jätteenpolttolaitos, joka hyödyntää syntypaikkalajiteltua yhdyskuntajätettä energian tuotannossa. Laitos on valmistunut vuonna 2012 ja se toimii omakustannus- eli mankala-periaatteella. Sen omistavat viisi kunnallista jätehuoltoyhtiötä; Botniarosk Oy Ab, Lakeuden Etappi Oy, Millespakka Oy, Stormossen Oy Ab ja Vestia Oy. Vuosittain laitoksessa poltetaan noin 185 000 tonnia jätettä, joilla tuotetun höyryn Westenergy myy edelleen Vaasan Sähkölle. Vaasan Sähkö tuottaa omistamallaan laitteistolla jätteenpolttolaitoksen tiloissa sähköä ja kaukolämpöä. Laitoksen sähköteho on 13 MW ja lämpöteho noin 40 MW ja tämä yhteistuotanto mahdollistaa suhteellisen korkean, keskimäärin noin 85% hyötysuhteen. Jätteen palaessa syntyneistä epäpuhtauksista saadaan savukaasujen puhdistuksella poistettua yli 99%.[1]
